The bomb dropped on my when this afternoon I learned my Biology class would be starting the evolution unit - today. My heart fell into my stomach with a sickening "thunk". I got home and was distressed on how I would throw my faith to its farthest lengths when scientific (and preposterous) information being forced on me by a teacher who very avidly supported it. Then it occured to me that the Dare2Share conference I'd be leaving for just tomorrow night was targeted to teach how to display your faith around people who don't necessarily agree with you. My heart is now lifted back to its normal position.

Thank You Father for this revelation (and for the amusing image of me shooting a Nerf gun at my teacher's picture of Darwin on her blackboard ;)

Tuesday's Sighting

Monday had felt like Tuesday and somehow the real Tuesday felt like Thursday and when my friend talked about how tomorrow (Wednesday) was finally the end of the week we all shared a huge laugh when she realized she was three days ahead of the calendar.

Yesterday's Sighting

Spent time with my mom's side of the family yesterday at my grandparents' house. For the first time in a looooong time none of the four residents got into a fight with one another. It was a good day in God's house.

Today was my grandma's retirement party at my great aunt's house. I'd been told that none of our family from Wisconsin would be there, but I was gleeful that my great aunt Kari walked into the entryway when I arrived.

Saw The Secret World of Arrietty yesterday with my friends. It was a really good movie and it reminded me of the summers I spent at my grandmother's house in the country. Makes me want to be a child again.

Tried to find a good retirement present for my grandma but was out of luck yesterday. Dejected, me and Dad headed for home, having gone to two malls to find something personal. Then it occured to me exactly what I should do. Thank you, Father, for the insight.

Last summer I was wearing my one Autobot t-shirt at the air show in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin. My backpack's straps were made of faux leather, and in the hot sun the brown color bled onto the back of my shirt. It was uncleanable and ruined. For a Valentine's Day "present" my dad got me a new one. :) Thanks Daddy!

I had to write an essay in an hour. X| Look at the half-dead zombie over here at the computer - WHEEE!

Father, please please PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE~ give me a decent night's sleep tonight. One sleep minus the dancing story ideas in my brain. Por favor.

My Sighting today is that my mom is stressed out about work, but she squares her shoulders and proclaims "I'm lucky I even have a job. That's more than most, and I won't let them down." Thanks again, Father, for giving me such a strong mother.

The sermon today really hit home with me because it made me realize I was going about dealing with my friends' fights the wrong way. I need to remember that they both have problems that are affecting their feelings about this, whether or not it's actually related to the fight. "Love keeps no record of wrongs." They need to forget the things they did in the past and remember only the things that were forgiven. I need to let them do their thing, and whatever happens will work into His plan.

Talked to my dad on the phone today while he's on a business trip in Boston. I would've expected him to love being there because he always spoke highly of the East's historical reputation, but it occured to me he wouldn't get to see much of it. He says he wishes he was home, and that curbs some of my worry that one day he'll move away from here because he wants to be anywhere else but here.

On another note, pray for my friend, who was sick yesterday on her birthday and hasn't recovered fully yet.

Happy Birthday Mom! :) Love you and thank you for all that you've done for me.

Watching a YouTube video of Star Wars characters on the Muppet Show I got to see C-3PO tap dance! It was a splendid spectacle and I will enjoy watching it over again when I need a pick-me-up. :) In homage to my favorite character I will have C-3PO written on the back of this year's choir apparel. ;)

Yesterday's Sighting

Yesterday's book club meeting after school prompted us to all share our backstory to how we came to read the Harry Potter series. I enjoyed hearing my friends' stories on how the series was etched into their childhood, yet they didn't judge me when I revealed I'd only read the iconic series two years ago for the first time. Thank you Father, for providing me with people that I can be open with, without added judgement.

Watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with Dad today we eagerly awaited the return of Uncle Iroh (our favorite character) after he disappeared following his escape from prison (in which he was wrongly incarcerated) and we finally got to the episode in which he appeared... and then I had to go home. Thank you, Father, for this convenient lesson in patience. :)

Bonded with my besties today during some down time in fourth hour. We walked around the basement of the school and ran up and down stairs to get in a workout and talk - something we haven't been able to do in a long time. Friends are so precious and we take them for granted until they're gone. Even  though they have flaws and sometimes don't talk to us as much as we think they should they're still our friends and we need to cherish them while they're close. Forgive them for their faults and maybe you can reconcile with yourself for the things you're done. Life's like an hourglass glued to the table - every second and grain of sand counts, so make the most of it. Your friends are there to open up to - don't keep in what you think. Tell them in a way that it'll matter and make an impact. I didn't do that once and it hurt. I'm sorry that I did and I hope I'll come to forgive myself soon. I think I might just have. :)
